i do not think that tourists only exist in the first world and vegabonds in the third.  People like to travel to third world countries to mayb help out or to just do something different.  In north korea they are not a third world country but the people are not aloud to move outside of korea and there are barly and tourist that go to north korea.  tourist need to get passes and what not to enter the country and they have very little access.
Tourist can be anybody from the rich to the poor. tourist are anybody that can travel to another place in the country, state, or world.  anybody can travel if they have the right money to. vegabonds are people who are traped where they are.  They cannot leave the current country they are in.  An example of this is north korea or cuba.  These countries are not third world countries and north korea is one of the major countries in the world today.

research blog 13

My research topic is fantasy football.  I found a great journal on my topic that i can use.  In this journal they talk about the expectations of winning in fantasy football.  If you win one, than you are expected to win again.  The author goes on to talk about how popular fantasy football has gotten.  It has generated a lot of money as well.  Another thing that i could use in the journal is the graphs that they use.  They use them to show stats, and other ways people use there minds and what they need to play fantasy football.

When reading the first part of the chapter, it talks a bit about brands.  I worked with Meijer for a short time, and they started as a small thrift store in Michigan.  Meijer was competing against other grocery stores like Wal-mart and Kroger, among others.  Meijer slowly gained in popularity and they have generated hundreds of stores in Michigan and Ohio alone. They have made themselves into there own brand.  They competed against all other giant brand names and they are still growing.
stereotyping is another word that has come up in the chapter.  When you see someone in the store dressed in all black and has spiked hair, you automatically have a stereotype about them.  This is wrong for people to do but everyone does it.  My cousin is one of these people whom wear all black.  She asked me the other day if I knew of any place that was hiring.  I told her of a few places that i might know of.  But she said she has applied there but she said that cause she wears black, everyone already has a stereo type about her and what she is like.  She is a sweet girl and it is not right not to even interview her because she dresses different or not up to certain standards.

When I put myself in a subcultre i started to interact with them right away.  I started fantasy football a long time ago and I have been pretty good with it so far.  Everybody that i played fantasy foot knows who i am.  But i joined a community league and i started to talk to them and introduced myself right away.  I got a lot of good responses on it and everybody seemed to talk back with me and enjoy a nice conversation with me.  I am a confident person at some things and fanstay football is one of them.  These guys did not cope with this to well and started to get  a little mad about it.  I tried to be as nice as possible but the way i was comes out different.

In the film Bamboozled there are a lot of racial slurs that are said.  There are  also a lot of stereo types and generalizations as well.  The film is mostly to show how our world is today and portraits the racial aspect of life as we know it.  It shows how we as a audience views certain people and it shows of these people portraits themselves.  In the movie there are people who act a certain way and we may not like how they are acting or what they are saying but this happens more and more in our world today.
When you watch this film you have a certain perception in your mind.  When you see people in the streets or walking by you, you are stereotypical to how this person is.  Even if this person is the nicest person in the world, when you look at them you may not think this.  This movie shows that the creators of the show are somewhat stereotypical to what they think these people are.  When really on the inside, these people are nice and don't like to be portray the way they are when they are filming the TV show.

Activity 6.2

I assume that when i am in a college setting that they are trying to prepare me for what life is like with a big boy job.  They try and prepare you to the best they can with education and knowlege to help you be successful in the feature.  In the education world you are trying to get the best education possible to get ready for the real world and working 40 + hours a week.  education sucks and so does the real world.

research blog part 9

When i look at nikes web site they can sell something to almost every athlete and fan of any sport.  They have pretty much anything you can ask for.  Nike is a major corperation that everybody knows about.  You see athlete wears some type of Nike gear, and you think to your self that you have to have it.  There are other types of Nike look alikes like under armorn, but no body is as big as Nike.  They use anything from colleges to high schools to help advertise there gear.  I got connected to Nike right away because I loved the football cleates and track spikes that they had.  I always wore there gear and I like everything that they ahve to offer.

reasearch blog number 8

The nike website is very professional.  When you click on something it sends you to another part of the nike web site.  When you go to buy something they use it through pay pal or you could just put in your credit card info.  Everything on the web site is nike.  You do not see any other product from any other company.  I like this kind of web site because you do not have to go to any other web sites other than nikes to get what you are looking for.  The only other thing you might have to use is pay pal.  You dont have to use pay pal if you do not want to.  Only if you have an account to make it easyer for yourself this would be easier.  I would say that everybody else would be with me on this, that the web site is nice and easy to use.

Reading Blog #4

I could not really think of any company so i asked someone sitting next to me. He told me to look up Chevrolet. I am a big Chevy fan so I thought this would work for me.  When i first seen the web sight, I seen a picture of a nice big Chevy Silverado. This interested me because I want to buy a new truck.  There is only one problem with that, i dont have any money.
Im looking at the web site more and then the picture turns to a sweet new Corvette.  The picture keeps on changing to new cars.  I like this because is shows everything that the company can offer.  I see some headings at the top of that page that has drop down boxes vehicles, pricing and offers, experience Chevrolet, and oweners.  I am interested the most in the pricing and offers.  Im assuming that i can look at every car Chevy makes.  Im also thinking that they will show how much you will pay per month as well.  Chevy catches my eye without even looking at the web site.  I think that the web site does very well to customers and I like it.

research blog # 6

In the Nike web site they use a few people and some shoes.  On the home page they have a pair of new running shoes.  Also with these shoes they have a Ipod touch.  They have subscripts at the bottum that say Nike store, Nikeid, Nike+ running, Nike 6.0, Nike Sportswear, Nike Women, Nike Football, Nike Basketball, and Nike Soccer. In the first two pictures they have shoes. The shoes look normal and basic.  I don't think there is anything special to them.  For the picture for Nike+running, there is a women running.  She looks like she has been running for a while.  Her face looks a little weird.  For the Nike 6.0, there is a guy with a surf board.  I'm not sure what exactly this sight means or goes to.  Next there is Nike Sportswear.  For that picture they have Christiano Ranoldo.  Ranoldo is a major, high paid, extremely well known soccer player.  He has done some modeling and this could be why he is on the cover for the sportswear section.  For Nike women, there is a picture of a women sweating.  She is smiling and is happy.  She looks comfortable with what who she is and what she is wearing.  Next is Nike Football.  With that they are showing a new jersey for a few different teams.  I think that this site is just for those jerseys.  Nike basketball is next.  Kevin Durant is the picture for this.  He is a famous and young star.  He is a great poster boy for basketball right now.  He lead the U.S. basketball team to a championship.  Finally is the Nike Soccer.  For this picture they are showing four Nike soccer cleats.  These cleats look very cool and are really shiny.  I think this is to try and help attract customers.

research blog #5

Nike is so diverse that there in no other web site like it.  On the first two pages it asks you where you are at exactly.  There are so many ;people that access this website from other countries.  Nike is so diverse that they attract people from many different countries.
When you first look at the Nike we site you see a pair of shoes.  This shows you that they are trying to sell something and that they are trying to get the attention of athletic people.  Than on the side of the web site they have different tabs that you could go to.  whatever you are interested in you could find it at one of the side tabs.

I am doing this research blog on the sports sight Nike.  The very first think you see when you open the sight is a big picture of some shoes.  On the left side of the page there are links to other Nike sites for men, women, girls boys, NikeID, team sports, clearance, and a get help. At the very top of the page it has your order status and your shopping cart.  As you scroll down you will see other links that you can go to.

hegemony

I think this picture is a good exaple of hegemony because I believe the U.S is one of if not is the major power in the world.  The world is on a tight rope over the u.s capital because a lot think that we are in control of everything. I am not sure why there is a world bank sign on there? i no the u.s. owes a lot of money to a lot of countries.

obama

I put chose this picture because I think Obama is doing whatever he wants with his power.  People are saying he is in to much control and he thinks that no one can stop him. Obama is a more dominate force and he thinks he is on top of the world. At the same time everybody love obama and thinks he is a great president.
This picture shows that one dominate government is trying to influence others. Some governments do not like how other governments decide to rule there country.  If a government has been set up for hundreds and hundreds of years, than why try and change them?

Hegemony- the major power in the u.s.

i chose this picture because it shows a force of domination in power.  Busch was a power that no one could stop and he did whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. A lot of people opposed Busch and what he did. He was a dominate power in our society and forced the weaker groups against him down.

mass culture

i think this is a picture of mass culture because it shows a tribe of inians and what there culture is about.
